Bowtie #63

Bees! Another bee tie!
A lot of bees on fabric tend to be in aesthetics that are appropriate for couches made in the early 80's (people forget how much of that decade was dipped in browns and oranges and wood paneling and thick-pile earth-toned carpets). So, when I find bees on a bright, colorful, and vibrant print, I snatch them up every time.
It is great to see that this theme of "bees" is really taking off as a leading theme for my growing collection.
I much prefer the mint side of this tie to the pink/purple/magenta side overall, but I was truly pleased to be able to make both sides identical, with the same bees and flowers. This is maybe the first time I've had the exact-same print on both sides of a tie, save for the change in color, and outside of prints that are just repeated symmetrical patterns.
It also makes me happy to see bees on flowers instead of on honeycombs. Visit the pollinator.org Bee Friendly Gardening page to learn how you can grow and provide the flowers that bees and other pollinators like to eat.
I wore the iterations of this bowtie on the 12th and 13th of August.
