New bowtie project

I bought a sewing machine right before the year began and set myself a challenge: never wear the same side of a bow‑tie on two different days for the rest of 2024. That means I’m stitching a little over two bow‑ties each week (I only wear them on days that have me on a video call or going into the office). I’ll be cataloguing every creation right here on my blog.
I’m a couple of months behind on posting about this project, but I’m ready to dive back into blogging. So I’ll share the bow‑ties in the order I made them, and sprinkle in republished older posts and projects along the way.
Our first bow‑tie, debuted on January 6-7, came from fabric I picked up at Michaels. This would be the first and last fabric I bought there. Fabric options are scarce around here, so sourcing will be an ongoing adventure—and an exciting challenge to avoid losing momentum.
What I love most about this tie is its comic‑book vibe. Picking a pattern that works at bow‑tie size can be tricky, and this one was especially challenging. Some of the panels are visually striking, but I made sure they still read clearly as Star Wars references while maximizing the usable length of the tie.
