Bowtie #60

This could have been in the non-existent upholstery week.
It is a tie that has a bold enough print to be interesting on a work call while also being detailed enough to be visually rewarding when seen in-person.
It reminds me, too, of toile, and that makes me want to buy one of those Star Wars Ruggables that has the "hidden" content in the toile print, then make a bowtie from it. I bet, even with Ruggable's machine-washable design, the tie would be a little stiff. Even more stiff than the double-facing ties I am making these days.
This would have been a good tie to wear in preparation for flag week. I bought this many months ago and just kept having other fabric to get through before I could cut and stitch this one, but I found out from one of my fabric stores that this is a premium British fabric. It doesn't really change anything in my bowtie making, but it was expensive, and I was happy to pay extra for this exquisite print.
In fact, they have this fabric line/maker right where you go to get your fabric cut and paid for. It's like the opposite of bubble gum at the grocery checkout; it's an impulse buy but very very comparatively expensive. I have found myself more than once tempted in a single transaction to throw caution to the wind and toss a few bolts of this company's product up on the table. I resist every time by reminding myself that I can get 2-3 other fabrics for the price of this brand.
I wore the iterations of this bowtie on the 31st of July and 4th of August.
