Bowtie #6

Here we have a theme I like to run with whenever I can with bowties, and that is bees. Or pollinators, more precisely. But almost exclusively bees. I think you could say the hexes in the previous bowtie were a nod to that, but this is a lot more explicit.

If you've seen my headshot in recent years, you would have seen my favorite bee bowtie. It's a lighter honeycomb than this one, and it has little bees dotted throughout.

The other side of this bowtie reminds me of a graphic you'd see in the pre-movie content of an Alamo Drafthouse or something Tarantino would make a nod to in a cutaway in one of his films.

This is one of those pairings of fabric that I like. They feel like they are part of the same collection, both with 60's 70's vibes, but not too tacky or outdated. I will say that the honeycomb side is not my favorite honeycomb fabric, and I will have a harder time pairing it with shirts than I will with the blue/green/yellow design I paired it with.

You'll see this with other fabrics that don't have an obvious up or down to the design, but I gave myself options by orienting the design vertically on one end of the tie and horizontally on the other. The catch here is that you will see both, if only in the tip of the side of the bowtie that is in the back. You can see what I mean in the headshot photo, on the left side of the tie, the diamond tip is sticking out from behind the bend in the tie.

I wore these sides on January 22nd and 23rd.
