Bowtie #57

Tie-dye is not batik, but this tie could very easily have been part of a theme week with #56.
I chose to not make the patttern orient in both directions in the same color, mostly because I wanted to preserve fabric (orienting in both directions creates more waste).
I am not in love with this fabric, but it does harken back to an era in my life in which I wore tie-dye shirts daily, while not looking like a bowtie worn to the wedding of a Grateful Dead band member.
There are actually a lot of batik/tie-dye fabrics at each of the fabric stores I go to. In fact, the one in Minnesota has a large section of it, and they are some of the most expensive fabrics there. Maybe I will do a full theme week with batik/tie-dye, if I can find 6 fat quarters that I like enough.
The blue side of this one is better than the purple one.
I wore the iterations of this bowtie on the 22nd and 23rd of July. .
