Bowtie #40

40!!!! I made 40 bowties before I turned 40. By the end of the year I will lock in that I made 60 bowties before I turned 60, and likely 80 bowties before I turned 80. I imagine that number will only go up anyway, as I am likely to continue making bowties after the project, whenever I find more fun fabric. Having this sewing machine is going to make me go broke.
Now how about this tie selection for the 40th? Colorful balloons if you tie it one way, fun little drops if you tie it the other. Think of the scene in Winnie the Pooh with all the hefalumps and woozles. I was tempted to include tags for some of the other denizens of the Hundred Acre Woods.
The back side of this, which I actually wore first, is the most amazing neon squirrel print. I really want to start making quilts, now that I see all the fun fabric made specifically for quilting.
I think that's why I am getting so lucky to find so much fun printing at a scale that reads well for bowties. Quilters often work with patches of fabric that are even smaller than my bowtie pattern.
I wore these sides on June 4th and 5th.
