Bowtie #46

SMOKEY! I was really excited when I found this fabric, but I was hoping to time it with a holiday or some special and relevant event.

It is not often I find fabric with text on it that reads well at the scale of the a bowtie, even one as large as those I've been making this year.

The plaid is one of those fabrics I would not normally wear on a bowtie if not for the fact that it has little Smokeys dotted at the corners. The only other exception I would make is my wife's Scottish clan tartan.

With so much of the world on fire right now, maybe Smokey is timeless and doesn't need a holiday to be relevant. I can always time this better next year, when this project is over and I can wear whichever bowtie I want, until it's worn out and I need to make another.

I wore these sides on June 19th and 22nd.
